The Lowland Leader award has been designed for people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside and woodland in summer conditions. The majority of the UK and Ireland is made up of this type of terrain so you’ll never be short of places to go walking.
The leadership opportunities for Lowland Leaders are varied and far reaching, from the South West Coast Path to the Great Glen Way; walking in lowland areas can be no less spectacular than walking high up in the mountains. This Award is a fantastic fit for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Expedition Section and will provide you with the confidence to support Bronze and Silver DofE Expeditions in ‘normal country’.
This course can be run as a private booking to reduce training costs and ensure the training is convenient for you. The minimum number of attendees for a private booking is 4.
I really enjoyed the course and thought that Matt was a great trainer, really made the information easy to digest and was very knowledgeable.
After completing LLA training this weekend, I wanted to email to say a big thank you to yourself and Mike. Mike was encouraging, professional, full of useful tips and hints and facilitated us developing our skills. My confidence in leading a group and general walking knowledge have both developed over the two days and I would recommend you as a training provider with no hesitation.
